Arkansas Football: Rebuild in full display in loss to Colorado State

3. The bottom of the West

With minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Arkansas found themselves in a one-possession game against Colorado State. That same day Alabama, Auburn, LSU and even Ole Miss won blowouts against bad teams. Texas A&M fell by two points to No. 2 Clemson, and could have won had it not been for a tough call on the goal line.

While the rest of the division was playing incredible football Arkansas was allowing a comeback from an 0-2 Colorado State team that had suffered back-to-back blowout losses against Hawaii and Colorado.

The game itself is a bad look for Arkansas, but the quality of competition they’ll face this year makes even a mediocre game look like a black eye. Arkansas is definitely in a full rebuild, and the Colorado State fiasco was ample evidence that it’s going to take longer than most Razorbacks would like.

Arkansas had one last chance to win the game with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Not only did they go three-and-out, the lost 11 yards before being forced to punt to CSU, who went on to score the game-winning touchdown.
