College GameDay has used actors, musicians, former athletes and more for their guest pickers. They’ve gone a different route to pick at Texas A&M vs Clemson.

The list of options for the guest picker spot on College GameDay in College Station was long and filled with plenty of star power. Johnny Manziel, Von Miller, Lyle Lovett and even Jennifer Gardner all have ties to the Aggies. The same was true two years ago when the Chainsmokers were chosen to make picks in College Station for the Aggies’ tilt with Tennessee.

Once again, Aggie fans are going to have to wait ’til their next College GameDay appearance before they see one of their more recognizable stars on screen with Desmon Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso. ESPN has opted for an unknown guest picker this week, choosing a young man from Cypress to make the picks alongside some of the biggest names in sports media.

The guest picker is Owen Gray from Cypress, Texas. He’s not a movie star or a superstar athlete. He’s part of the Make a Wish Foundation who was surprised with a trip to College Station for the game on Saturday. Little did he know, he’d be told on national television he would be the Week 2 guest picker for Texas A&M vs Clemson.

During the pregame festivities, Jimbo Fisher said it was the people that made Texas A&M special. Owen’s selection as the guest picker is just one more special memory with ties to Aggieland and the 12th Man. Will he pick the Aggies to upset Clemson at Kyle Field? That remains to be seen.
