2. Georgia (2-0, 1-0 SEC)

Georgia moves up one spot in the rankings due to a conference win against South Carolina, as expected. The Bulldogs traveled to South Carolina and it clearly had no affect on their performance, winning 41-17.

On offense, Jake Fromm was 15-of-18 passing for a total of 194 yards. This kind of passing efficiency and accuracy is exactly why Fromm should be a candidate for the Heisman. He also threw one touchdown.

The running backs and offensive line played their parts, as well. Leading the way on the ground was Elijah Holyfield with 76 yards and one touchdown. Although D’Andre Swift will likely remain the No. 1 back for the Bulldogs.

Georgia’s defense showed up to play as well. Gamecocks’ quarterback Jake Bentley was intercepted twice by the Georgia defense and the Bulldogs held South Carolina to only 54 yards on the ground. Georgia’s run defense will need to play like they did against South Carolina against the rest of the SEC. But for now, all signs point to the Georgia defense being the best in college football.
