1. Alabama (2-0)

In Tua Tagovailoa’s first game truly starting for the Alabama Crimson Tide, he looked just as good as he always has. In Alabama’s 57-7 beat down of Arkansas State, Tagovailoa was 13-of-19 for 228 yards and four touchdowns. Although his accuracy could have been better, four touchdowns is impressive. He also had 20 yards rushing on four carries.

Jalen Hurts was able to get a significant amount of playing time and made good use of it. Hurts was efficient in his passing, going 7-for-9 for 93 yards. He had a nice run for 15 yards.

Assessing the Crimson Tide’s defense against Arkansas State won’t tell us much. However, we can count on Nick Saban to constantly be preparing his defense and expect them to play perfectly, despite their opponent.

With the best coach and two of the best quarterbacks in college football, Alabama remains atop the projected top-four. Alabama faces their first game SEC opponent on the year next week against Ole Miss. This, too, will likely be a blowout.
