Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic – Clemson Tigers vs Ohio State Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes rolled their way to another win on Saturday. Dwayne Haskins and the rest of the Buckeye offense is firing on all cylinders. Their Week 3 matchup has them taking on TCU in a “neutral site” game. TCU will be one of the toughest defenses the Buckeyes will play all season. A win over TCU helps make their case for a spot in the playoff and/or a NY6 Bowl even with a conference loss.
The Clemson Tigers escaped Week 2 with a 28-26 win over Texas A&M. Penalties and poor play in the fourth quarter almost cost the Tigers the game. But thanks to a controversial call with just over two minutes left, the Tigers were able to win the game. Yes, A&M did score again but who knows what would’ve happened if the right call would’ve been made.
The Tigers are a top team but have struggled in both of their games so far. They’ll need to buckle down and play more consistent or an ACC Championship, let alone a NY6 Bowl, will not be in their future.
