Wake Forest Football: 3 Takeaways from loss to Boston College
1. The ACC Atlantic is Deep and Talented
The ACC Atlantic has for the most part been a two-horse race between Florida State and Clemson, with one of those two teams advancing to the ACC Championship Game every year since 2008. That probably won’t change in 2018, but tonight’s match-up proves that the Atlantic Division won’t be a cake walk for Clemson.
Boston College has Dillon and its usually stout defense. Wake Forest is a very good football team with a freshman quarterback who will make them dangerous for years. NC State and Syracuse have lethal offenses and we’ve yet to see if blue-chip programs Florida State and Louisville have the talent to compete at their usual level.
This season may be the most heavily contested season in the Atlantic in a while. Clemson will not have a cake-walk to the ACC Championship, especially with road games scheduled against Boston College and Wake Forest. The Boston College offensive line and Dillon against Clemson’s defensive line may be one of the most underrated matchups of the season.
