College Football Week 3 TV schedule: How to binge-watch
Saturday 12:00-3:00
Hawaii at Army, 12:00 p.m. EST, CBSSN
Can I interest you in quite possibly the two most different offenses in all of college football, playing each other more than 5,000 miles from the road team’s campus? Yes? Okay great. Hawaii is one of the best stories of the season, as they sit at 3-0 led by quarterback Cole McDonald running an extremely fun run and shoot offense. Army, on the other hand, wants to slow a game down and control the ball with their triple option. Which style will win out?
One sentence sell: The noon slate stinks this week, and Hawaii is extremely fun, as is the triple option.
Oklahoma at Iowa State, 12:00 p.m. EST, AB
I don’t expect a repeat of last season’s upset, but this could still be a pretty quality game, and it’s pretty easily one of the two most interesting noon kicks. I think Oklahoma is probably going win by several possessions because their offense is excellent and Iowa State’s, well, isn’t, but this still has plenty of storylines to follow and stars to watch.
One sentence sell: First real test for Kyler Murray against a good defense, if he does well he could quickly become a Heisman candidate.
Vanderbilt at Notre Dame, 2:30 p.m. EST, NBC
Vanderbilt probably isn’t any good this year, but hey, they’re undefeated and so is Notre Dame. While Vanderbilt looked good in both of their first two games, Notre Dame took care of Michigan and then very nearly turned around and lost to Ball State, so there are still plenty of questions about how good they are, specifically on offense.
One sentence sell: It’s a matchup of two pretty major teams in a time slot that doesn’t have a whole lot going on, so watch for an hour before the 3:30 games start.
