Saturday 3:30-6:00

LSU at Auburn, 3:30 p.m. EST, CBS

Talk about a brutal start, this is LSU’s second matchup with a top ten (at the time of playing) team in three weeks, after kicking the season off with their big win over Miami. While that Miami game was a bit of a bust in the entertainment department, I have high expectations for this one. Auburn’s defense is spectacular, as is LSU’s, and I’m super excited to see what these offenses look like against such great competition.

One sentence sell: Joe Burrow hasn’t been particularly good (he hasn’t been bad either, just kind of average) this season, and Auburn’s defensive line might actually eat him live on television.

Boise State at Oklahoma State, 3:30 p.m. EST, ESPN

This is my game of the day. Boise State has looked phenomenal through the first two weeks of the season, and I’m so excited to see what they look like against a good team like Oklahoma State. This will be an excellent test for their defense and could serve as a major selling point for an appearance in the College Football Playoff if the Broncos are to go undefeated. If any G5 team has the brand recognition to make the playoff, it’s Boise State.

One sentence sell: This is a great matchup and should be an extremely competitive game, regardless of it becomes a lower scoring affair or a blowout.

Houston at Texas Tech, 4:00 p.m. EST, FOX

I’m not entirely sure that Houston isn’t going to beat the brakes off of Texas Tech in this game, but it is still worth watching just for that if nothing else. Houston quarterback D’Eriq King is awesome, and defensive tackle Ed Oliver is the most dominant college football player I’ve seen since Ndamukong Suh, so any chance to watch them should be taken.

One sentence sell: If Boise State is the top G5 team, Houston isn’t far behind, and they’re looking to notch their second win over a P5 school in as many weeks after crushing Arizona.

North Texas at Arkansas, 4:00 p.m. EST, SEC Network

I don’t have a ton to say about this game, but North Texas is probably going to win, so be on the lookout for that.

One sentence sell: Mason Fine, North Texas’ quarterback, is one of the most exciting players in all of college football, and he’s going to tear this Arkansas defense to shreds.
