Wide Receiver Injuries

Edwin Carter – Illinois

Illinois lost another wide receiver due to a knee injury when Edwin Carter went down last weekend. Illinois had already lost Mike Dudek, but they really lack depth at wide receiver after Carter’s injury.

Carter was the only player to have a receiving touchdown this season with two touchdowns in two games, Other than senior Sam Mays, Illinois will be relying on some very young receivers throughout the season.

Julian Ortega-Jones – Bowling Green

Bowling Green wide receiver Julian Ortega-Jones suffered a season-ending ACL injury last weekend. The freshman receiver had not had a reception in the first two games this season, but the Falcons will miss having that extra depth at receiver. Ortega-Jones was a two-star recruit from Fort Worth, TX according to 247sports.

Aaron Young – Duke

Duke wide receiver Aaron Young sat out last weekend due to an undisclosed injury, and he is questionable for their game against Baylor this Saturday. Young started the season strong with four receptions, 114 receiving yards, and one touchdown against Army.
