Ohio State Football: 5 reasons Buckeyes will beat TCU in Week 3
3. Mike Weber will be the X-factor on offense
Mike Weber started the season off with an excellent game against the Oregon State Beavers. Last week he couldn’t do much against the Scarlet Knights’ front-seven and wasn’t effective at all. He looked tentative at times but also was not given many opportunities to get into a rhythm as he had just eight carries for 31 yards.
Weber should be used in the passing game more as I expect Gary Patterson to dial up some blitzes on first and second down which should lead to short passes to the junior running back in the flat.
Last week, Tate Martell led the Buckeyes in rushing with 95 yards on just eight carries. While it was a great game by the freshman quarterback, the Ohio State offense does not want to rely on him as their main focus in the running game.
There should be a healthy dose of Weber and JK Dobbins as each back should get between 12 to 15 carries in this game.
