3. LSU’s defense will keep them in every game

You may think that to beat LSU all you need is average quarterback play and maybe one or two ball carriers who can make a few impact plays. Not this season. This defense is scary and they have playmakers at every level.

Yes, the Tigers gave up over 100 yards to Jatarvious Whitlow, but besides him, Auburn averaged just 1.6 yards per carry from everyone else. The defensive picked up a sack and had six tackles for a loss.

The best defensive player in this game was Grant Delpit. The sophomore safety led the Tigers with 10 tackles and had a tackle for a loss. He made plays all over the field and was one of the big reasons LSU was able to force Auburn into long third down situations. Delpit has made an huge play in every game this season, as he picked up a sack in each of the first two games, and had the first interception in this game.

The Tigers defense will continue to wreak havoc on offenses as they head into their showdown with Alabama, and it will be fun to see how much they improve until that pivotal showdown.
