3. Mississippi State’s defense is good too

The Bulldogs can score the ball very easily, but their defense also has played in the first three games. They have allowed only 26 total points in three games this season.

They have a few impact players that will be playing on Sundays soon too. Jonathan Abram, Montez Sweat, and Jeffrey Simmons are a few defensive players that could make it to the NFL if they continue to play well in the SEC.

The Bulldogs were up 49-3 at the end of the third quarter and only gave up one more touchdown with mostly reserves in late in the game. Their defense has not been tested by a great offense yet, but there will be plenty of opportunities to face elite offenses as they enter SEC play.

Mississippi State will play Kentucky next week and then Florida the following week. They should continue moving up in the standings and could be in playoff contention if they can finish the season with only one regular season loss. That is a tall order with their schedule, but anything is possible with this high-scoring offense.
