1. This is Trace McSorley’s world and we are just living in it

It is a fair question to ask where would the Lions be without Trace McSorley. They most likely lose the first game against Appalachian State and who knows in the last two games.

McSorley had himself a pretty nice day. He only completely 50 percent of his passes, but made the most of the completions with 229 yards and two scores. He also gashed Kent State on the ground for three touchdowns to go along with 54 yards.

The senior quarterback did throw his first interception this season, however he cannot be blamed too much for it as it happened off a drop and tip up by Miles Sanders. Coincidentally, on the ensuing return by Kent State it was McSorley with his awareness to make the tackle and save a touchdown.

McSorley has now accounted for 11 touchdowns this season. His completion percentage has not been great so far, about 52 percent, but without some of the receiver drops it would be higher.

His play through three games looks like a guy who wants to go out on top with a Big Ten championship and perhaps more. While his team has things to correct to get the team to where it wants to go, McSorley already appears in mid season form.
