2. Jake Browning has taken another step back

Jake Browning ranks second all-time in school history in career passing yards. He’ll break Cody Pickett‘s record later this year. Browning posted 3,430 passing yards in his sophomore season, the second most in a single season of any Washington passer. Then 2017 happened and Browning regressed.

From 43 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a sophomore, Browning threw19 touchdowns and five interceptions as a junior. He’s on pace for a dismal 16 passing touchdowns and 16 interceptions so far in 2018. That’s bad by any quarterback’s standards. For Browning, it’s absolutely stunning.

Browning was once thought to be one of the better quarterbacks in the nation. Now he’s lucky to be mentioned in the conversation of the best passers in the Pac-12, with younger players like JT Daniels, KJ Costello and Justin Herbert all having better seasons than the one-time Pac-12 leader.
