Pac-12 Football: Stanford leads four remaining unbeatens out West

Week 3 of the college football season did not go as planned for Pac-12 football, especially for the increasingly bad lower tier of the conference.

While they didn’t succumb to the pressure quite like the Big Ten, the league failed to deliver in key games that could ultimately keep them out of the College Football Playoff come the end of the season. It’s still early, so there’s no reason to panic out west quite yet, but the level of concern will continue to rise with each passing dismal weekend.

On this particular week, USC dropped a 23-point decision to Texas on the road, Arizona State slipped up at San Diego State and UCLA was absolutely crushed by Fresno State. Stanford, Oregon, Colorado, Washington State and California all remained unbeaten on the season heading into a very quiet week for the conference.

Just four games are on the docket for Week 4, with all four being league matchups, including an interesting out in Eugene as the Ducks host the Cardinal.
