4. Lane Train stops in Orlando

Lane Kiffin’s FAU Owls travel north to Orlando to face the Central Florida Knights. UCF, coached by Josh Heupel, sits at 19th overall in the S&P+ rankings. Florida Atlantic is only 69th in the country coming off a 10-win season in 2017. This is a Friday night game on Sept. 21 that will be featured on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. That’s a great boon for recruiting both for FAU and UCF.

The stars of the evening will be UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton and FAU running back Devin Singletary. Milton has already thrown for 589 yards with an 8.3 yards per attempt average and six touchdowns.

However, under Heupel, he has thrown more interceptions with three already being toss on the season. Singletary isn’t on pace for 1,800 rushing yards but does already have seven touchdowns on the ground for FAU.

The UCF offense is still explosive and is sitting at 14th per the S&P+ but the defense is only 59th. The question will be how has UCF replaced Shaquem Griffin who was everywhere for two seasons at rush linebacker for the Knights? Griffin is now in Seattle playing for the NFL’s Seahawks and UCF has only four sacks on the entire season thus far.
