2. Sam Ehlinger gets stuffed

In the immortal words of B.A. Baracus from the A-Team, “I pity the the fool” who plays TCU football next after they gave up 525 total yards against Ohio State. You best believe Gary Patterson was in a full lather this week after the poor display of tackling on a team known for its defensive prowess.

Coach Patterson has come out and said this week that Sam Ehlinger is the X-factor for the Texas offense. He also stated that ‘Slinging Sammy’ functions as much as a running back as he does a quarterback when the Texas offense is moving. And while that quote probably got the UT faithful in a tizzy, for all intents and purposes, it’s true. And while Ehlinger is a poor man’s version of Tim Tebow, he has a long way to go before we anoint him Touchdown Jesus Jr.

Expect the TCU defense to come out with their hair on fire in this one and stop the UT run game cold. Look for Ty Summers to have a monster game and Garrett Wallow to bounce back to form after missing a few tackles in the last couple games.

Now if Ehlinger can’t run the ball he is going to have to throw it downfield. That shouldn’t be a  entertaining proposition for the Longhorn faithful as the Frog secondary is shaping up to look like  a strong point of the TCU defense. Look for Noah Daniels to get a lot more playing time after a strong showing against Ohio State.
