The run defense will get better

When you look at the Tigers offensive numbers, you will quickly see that the Bulldogs did a good job of shutting down Drew Lock, who is being touted by draft pundits as a potential 1st round pick.

Lock only threw for 221 yards and an interception, so it was surprising to see Missouri run the ball so well against the Georgia front seven.

As a whole, the Tigers scored four rushing touchdowns (by four different players). None of the individual player’s stats were jaw-dropping, but each player that scored a touchdown averaged over four yards per carry.

Damarea Crockett led the way with 13 carries for 67 yards and a score. The Tigers seemed to be able to run the ball in the second half, and it might look like a major concern to Georgia fans, but they shouldn’t be worried.

While the defense hasn’t shown up against the run the last two games, as Middle Tennessee state also ran the ball well against them in Week 3, things will turn around against the Volunteers.

Look for more of a stat line reminiscent of the showdown against South Carolina, where the Gamecocks averaged under three yards per carry.

Georgia will look to pick up their fifth win next week against Tennessee, and while this performance had a few moments where fans were shaking their heads, this is still one of the best teams in the nation.
