Oklahoma State Football: 3 takeaways from Texas Tech shootout

2. Oklahoma State offense has no juice
Gone are the days of Mason Rudolph and James Washington strolling on to the field and racking up 300 yards and a handful of scores. With those two gone, I’m not sure mike Gundy has quite found their replacements.
Don’t get me wrong, Taylor Cornelius played excellent in the first half, going 13-of-22 for 219 yards and a score. He finished with just five more completions and 39 more passing yards, though. Those types of second-half stats just won’t cut it in Big 12 Conference play.
Justice Hill is one of the best offensive players in the conference, but he alone can’t carry the load. He rushed for 111 yards and a score on 12 carries, but in a game they trailed, it was hard to get Hill more touches on the ground.
Regardless, the Cowboys are a talented offensive bunch. Even at wide receiver, they have Tylan Wallace, Jalen McClesky, J.D. King, and Tyron Johnson. A weak non-conference schedule didn’t help the Cowboys any, playing Missouri State, South Alabama, and Boise State to start the season.
