This Blitz Sticker does not go to an individual. It was a team effort by every one of the players along Penn State’s offensive line.

Penn State made running the ball priority number one on the night and they did not disappoint. As a team, they ran over Illinois to the tune of 387 yards and six touchdowns. They also only gave up one sack when the game was well in hand and a lot of backups were playing.

The starting five offensive linemen Ryan Bates, Steven Gonzalez, Michal Menet, Connor McGovern and Will Fries dominated the Illinois front all night, opening up big holes for Lion running backs. Give Chasz Wright credit too as he rotated in and out along the line.

Despite having Saquon Barkley for the past three seasons, the rushing attack still suffered at times due to the offensive line. The five returning starters continue to improve and they could be a real strength for Penn State against some of the better defenses upcoming.
