Of all the rankings on this list, I think this is the one I’m most apprehensive about. All things indicate that TCU should be a very good to even great team this year. Their defense should be awesome, and their offense, with all that speed, and a talented quarterback should be difficult to stop, making them one of the Big 12’s best.

Even with all of that said, the reality of the situation that TCU is 2-2. Right now, they’re a decent team, with a ceiling that I’d like to think is still high. They’re no longer a playoff contender, but they should be able to compete for the conference title still. However, after the loss they just took to Texas, I have way more questions than I do answers. I don’t think a win over ISU this week would answer my questions either.

Speaking of teams that I really don’t understand, and had pretty high expectations for coming into this season, what the heck happened to Oklahoma State? I had concerns about Taylor Cornelius, and I had my doubts about the defense being “actually good”, but goodness, they just got smacked by a freshman quarterback, a freshman running back, and a coach that spent the last two years being one loss to Kansas away from out of a job.

I don’t know what to think about this team. I’m frustrated with a lot of the decision-making from the coaching staff when it comes to personnel, and honestly, I’m surprised a coach as smart as Mike Gundy didn’t see this coming. Taylor Cornelius isn’t the guy at quarterback, and the ceiling with him running the offense, especially with his top receiver deciding to transfer, is probably eight wins. I’m really concerned about this team.
