Thankfully for Chip Kelly and the Bruins, they didn’t have a game last week. Instead, they had to deal with headlines created around parents and internal issues for the team.

It’s been a very, very tough start for Kelly. After guiding Oregon to much success in his first stint in the Pac-12, he’s found the going much rougher with UCLA.

The Bruins will try to use any momentum created during the bye to get in the win column against conference contender Colorado on Friday night.

The Beavers were just the kind of coming out party that Arizona needed this past weekend, as they suffered a 35-14 defeat.

J.J. Taylor ran for a stadium record 284 yards and scored two touchdowns, leaving the Oregon State defense with plenty of nightmares to keep them away this week. The performance off-set another decent game by Jermar Jefferson, who rushed for 82 yards, and Conor Blount, who had two passing touchdowns, 137 yards and no interceptions.

Oregon State gets another team from Arizona, as they head to Tempe to tackle Herm Edwards and the Sun Devils.

Two weeks ago, the Utes were unable to get any offense going in a loss to Washington, 21-7. They might find the going a little easier this week when they head to Washington State.

Tyler Huntley has thrown for 677 yards, completing almost 60 percent of his passes with four touchdowns. Zack Moss has 313 yards from scrimmage and four scores, but it hasn’t been a real offensive explosion this year for Utah.

As has typically been the case when facing Mike Leach and the Cougars, the Utes will need to score to stay in this game.

Kevin Sumlin‘s team finally got going this past week, as J.J. Taylor ran for almost 300 yards in a convincing win over Oregon State. But what do we know about the Wildcats after four games?

Khalil Tate isn’t 100 percent healthy as evident by his 23 carries for 32 net yards rushing. He is completing 54 percent of his throws with an 8-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio and over 1,000 yards, but without that electrifying person at quarterback, Arizona has posted just a 2-2 mark.

The Wildcats can prove themselves contenders in the Pac-12 this Saturday night when they welcome USC in a pivotal showdown.
