As we enter the second quarter of the season, the college football landscape is becoming more confusing than ever. With that, let’s get bold ladies and gents.
As the season wears on, Alabama becomes the clearer and clearer favorite to once again win it all and the rest of the nation just seems mixed up. At this point, it is anyone’s game to fill in those spots behind the Tide. So early in the season, anything could happen and anyone could make a run for the title.
Week 5 consists of quite a few interesting matchups that will have you on the edge of your seat from College Game Day all the way through to the Pac-12 After Dark slate. So, without further ado, let’s get to the bold predictions of the week.
5. The SEC plays out just as you’d expect it to
In terms of matchups, this week is about as vanilla as it comes in the Southeastern Conference. There are a few that caught my attention, but overall it seems pretty predictable in Week 5.
Alabama hosts ULL, a game that will surely end in another blowout for the Tide. The Georgia Bulldogs will play Tennessee, another game that seems to be less than exciting. LSU welcomes Ole Miss to Death Valley. That one will be great, if you wear purple and gold. Auburn plays Southern Miss, Vanderbilt plays Tennessee State and Missouri has a bye week.
Texas A&M plays Arkansas at AT&T Stadium, a game that has a double digit spread as the Razorbacks are the worst the SEC has to offer as of right now. Kentucky plays South Carolina and Mississippi State plays Florida. Those last two could be exciting, but we will have to wait and see.
All in all, my bold prediction is that this week plays out just like you’d expect within the SEC. The gap will continue to widen between the contenders and the pretenders. If you are looking for exciting games, the SEC isn’t exactly your conference this week.
