Four weeks are behind us and the SEC football ranks are truly beginning to take shape. How much did the gap widen between contenders and pretenders?
This week was quite exciting for the SEC, or at least for about half of the conference. Everyone was active and just about everyone was playing within the conference. Overall, Alabama pushed themselves even higher on the totem pole and the Razorbacks continued to fall.
There was a bit of shakeup in the middle due to a few upsets and close games. However, my biggest takeaway of the week is that the gap in the conference just continued to widen as the day went on.
Let’s talk power rankings ladies and gentlemen.
As we say in the South, bless your heart Razorbacks. This season has not gone well at all for Arkansas and it is just going to get worse as the year continues on. So far, they have compiled a respectable, expected loss to Auburn and disappointing losses to Colorado State and North Texas.
At this point, the Razorbacks are lucky that they haven’t been disowned by the SEC at large. There are struggling teams within the conference and then there is Arkansas. Chad Morris has no idea what is going on- at all. This team has not bought into their new head coach’s philosophy at all and they don’t seem to believe in each other either.
As it stands right now, Arkansas is the bottom of the barrel in the SEC and it is not even close.
