Saturday 3:30-6:00

Michigan at Northwestern, 4:30 p.m. EST, FOX

I’m gonna level with y’all. I never encourage actively not watching football when you could be watching football, but if there’s a time on Saturday where you’re looking to make a food run, or spend time with your family, it’s the 3:30 to 6:00 slot. You can watch Texas-Kansas State or Georgia-Tennessee at 3:30, but they’re going to be bad, so you probably shouldn’t.

The first game worth watching in the afternoon slate is this one, and even this is just decent at best. Northwestern’s running back retired after sustaining a career-ending injury earlier this week, and the Wildcats seem to stink this year, so Michigan is probably going to blow them out. Maybe they won’t though?

One sentence sell: This is just an article, and while I wouldn’t encourage anyone to watch this game, I can’t technically stop you either.

Utah at Washington State, 6:00 p.m. EST, Pac-12 Network

If you’re one of the 20 people who get the Pac-12 Network, congratulations on getting the better of the two 6:00 p.m. games that can serve as a transition into the actual good games that start at 7:30 p.m. The other option for the rest of us is Florida-Mississippi State, and seeing as how Florida isn’t any good, that’ll probably be a bad game, unlike this one (both teams did lose to Kentucky, so that’s something).

One sentence sell: Washington State seems to be pretty decent, and that offense against Utah’s defense is a pretty interesting matchup.
