Allstate Sugar Bowl – Oklahoma Sooners vs Georgia Bulldogs

The Oklahoma Sooners looked to be an unstoppable force through the first 3 weeks of the college football season, but after being taken to overtime by Army, it was shown that this Sooner team can be beaten…by the right team that is.

The Sooners play Baylor, a now lost and forgotten program, this Saturday but know that their game against Texas is just around the corner. And that game sets off a string of games that has Oklahoma playing in tough opponents in five of their next seven games. The Sooners did not take a step back from a year ago, but the majority of the Big 12 has taken leaps to get to the level of Oklahoma. In a conference that was once mocked for being weak, might be one of the most entertaining conferences to watch all season.

The Georgia Bulldogs held Missouri quarterback Drew Lock to just 221 passing yards and didn’t allow him to throw a single touchdown. The Bulldogs themselves found the end zone plenty of times in the air as Jake Fromm threw for three touchdowns in the Bulldogs most impressive win of the season.

With all the noise and hype surrounding LSU, some eyes have shifted and pressure seems to be off Georgia as they contend for a second straight appearance in the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs sit comfortably in our projections for now, but a tough stretch of games are near, and their postseason fate could be determined soon.
