Florida State Football: Deondre Francois saves Noles from disastrous start

Pass back as QB1
Nobody – at least nobody with a sense of reality – expected Jawon Pass to step right in as starting quarterback at Louisville and do what Lamar Jackson did.
There is a reason that Jackson was a Heisman Trophy winner who threw for over 9,000 yards, ran for over 4,100 and accounted for 119 touchdowns in three seasons. He was a special, special player.
Pass, though, showed good signs in five games last year for Bobby Petrino, completing 23 of 33 for 238 yards with two touchdowns. Once he was handed control of the offense, though, that all changed.
A foot injury caused Pass to lose confident in himself, as he was a combined 8-for-17 for 89 yards in games vs. Indiana State and Western Kentucky. That sparked a move to Malik Cunningham, but Pass jumped back in last week vs. Virginia, throwing for 113 yards on 10 completions.
He finished with a career-306 yards passing and two touchdowns, completing 24 of 45 with two picks vs. Florida State on Saturday.
For Louisville to make a move up the ACC standings, the 6-4 sophomore from Georgia must keep improving on a weekly basis.
