2. Jake Browning passes for 400 yards

It wasn’t that long ago that Jake Browning frequently surpassed 300 yards passing and tossed a few touchdowns every outing. The senior quarterback saw his decline begin last season and the descent into mediocrity continued into 2018. Browning has thrown seven touchdowns and four interceptions this season, surpassing the 300-yard mark just once – against North Dakota.

Browning threw for a career-best 405 yards against Arizona State in 2015. The Huskies jumped out to a 17-0 lead before being outscored 27-0 to close out the game. Saturday’s game against BYU shouldn’t be a shootout, but it could be a blowout. That 405 mark could be in danger, especially if he can build on last week, his best outing of the young season.

BYU has allowed three pass plays of 30 yards or more this season, something that might actually work in Browning’s favor. He’s excelled in short range, getting the ball to his playmakers in space and letting them do the bulk of the work.

If the BYU offense doesn’t get rolling the pressure on the defense could open up additional opportunities for Washington. 200 yards could become 300 yards rather quickly, setting up the potential for a historic day for Browning.
