Haskins versus McSorley

The two best quarterbacks in the Big Ten faced off in a battle for the ages in this 2018 white out game. Heisman hopefuls, Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State, and Penn State’s Trace McSorely headlined college football’s primetime game.

Early on, Haskins struggled, throwing one interception and completed only seven of his seventeen passes before halftime. However, he did throw a touchdown minutes before the end of the second quarter. McSorley found more success by throwing for 198 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, he ran for 76 yards in the first half.

The second half was a different story, Haskins and the Buckeyes came out and scored a touchdown on their opening drive, while McSorley and his team were unable to earn a first down on their first set of downs.

Haskins played much better in the second half and finished the game with 270 yards on 56 percent passing and three touchdowns.

Trace McSorley played incredibly the entire game, accounting for 461 of Penn State’s 492 yards on offense. McSorley showed off his mobility, ending the game with 175 rushing yards, setting the record for the most rushing yards in a game by a Penn State quarterback ever. He also finished the game with two passing touchdowns.
