48. . DE. Boston College. Zach Allen. 15. player

Somehow, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-2 so far this year with wins against the Saints and the reigning Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles. Most of this is due to the magic of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Very little of this success is due to the Bucs’ defense, which is exactly why taking a defensive player in the first round of the draft would make the most sense.

One of the most disciplined defensive players available is Zach Allen out of Boston College. In his sophomore campaign, Allen posted 36 tackles, including six sacks in only 10 games. However, as a junior, Allen put up much bigger numbers, totaling an even 100 tackles, with 15.5 of them for loss.

Eventually, the Bucs are going to go back to Jameis Winston and the momentum of the team is going to decrease. When this happens, the defense will be exposed as well as the need for young defensive players. Allen will likely still be available at this point in the draft and the Bucs would be smart to take him.
