2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projecting the first round after Week 5
The Bengals have proven to be a candidate for this year’s playoffs, just as they do nearly every year. They typically begin the season strong, especially on offense. However, as the season continues on, and the offensive efficiency cools off, the Bengals either miss the playoffs or lose in the first round. The old, but timeless phrase is that “Defense wins Championships”. So where would you go if your team was just below being a real championship contender?
Derrick Brown would be a great fit for the Cincinnati Bengals due to his experience playing in big games against quality opponents. Brown, a junior from the University of Auburn, is 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds.
Brown played in eight games as a freshman and played in every single game last year. He would likely be used more as a defensive tackle instead of a defensive end in the Bengals system. However, Brown has played both positions very effectively at Auburn.
