1. Valuable

Take away Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers and you’ll get mediocrity at the professional level of football. With LeBron James gone from Cleveland, we’ll see them fall as they did in his first departure. So what does Book have in common with these two athletes, that are arguably the best in their sport? Value.

Take Ian Book out of the equation and the Irish lose the Stanford game, and honestly might have found themselves in a dog fight against Wake Forest. We’re not saying Book is an all-time great but value should matter and factor in to the biggest individual award in all of college football, the Heisman Trophy. Winning the Heisman is about being the most outstanding player in the nation, but it also means being the most valuable.

There are other players that have value to their team but how much value has yet to be seen. Notre Dame’s improvement from a flat offense to one of the best in the nation, proves that Ian Book has some of the highest value in college football.
