2. JK Dobbins is key to the Buckeyes’ success

After Mike Weber’s excellent performance against the Oregon State Beavers in Week 1, where he carried the ball for 186 yards and a handful the scores, JK Dobbins has been the more consistent back for the Buckeyes this season.

Dobbins has the patience to wait for holes to open up and every time the offense needs to quiet an out of control crowd he is there to keep the chains moving. The Ohio State offense struggled to run the football as a whole, but Dobbins still proved to be an X-factor in this game.

He ran the ball 17 times for 57 yards and a touchdown, but also caught two passes for 61 yards including the touchdown that got the Buckeyes back into the game in the second half.

It is clear that Dobbins is the workhorse of the unit as he had another game with 15-plus carries under his belt. The offense can only go as far as Dobbins takes them but the talented sophomore should continue to make the plays needed to make sure Ohio State walks out of each game with a win.
