Baylor Football: 5 bold predictions for October 2018

5. Jalen Hurd adds five more touchdowns

Jalen Hurd came to Baylor with a lot of fanfare. A former 5-star recruit out of Tennessee who was on his way to becoming the all-time leading rusher for the Vols until he decided to change positions and schools.

After sitting out last year due to transfer rules Jalen was definitely ready to go this season. he started off with four receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown against Abilene Christian before a breakout performance against UTSA. Hurd had eight receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown against the Roadrunners.

Hurd was a skilled runner at Tennessee and that fact has not been lost on Baylor. Starting in the Duke game Hurd has been a situational runner for the Bears. Jalen has been used as a situational runner in short yardage and goal line packages. On the year Hurd has 11 rushes for 43 yards and a touchdown. Look for Hurd to more than double his touchdown output and be a featured goal line back for Baylor.
