What Jake Fromm brings to the table for the Georgia Bulldogs

Far from experiencing a sophomore slump, Jake Fromm has been even better in his second season as the starter for the Bulldogs. Fromm is a sure-armed passer who has improved his accuracy in the first month of 2018 even in the scope of getting limited opportunities to push the ball downfield.

Through the first five games of the year, Fromm is completing 72.5 percent of his passing attempts for Georgia. He is one of just eight quarterbacks in the FBS who currently averages more than 10 yards per passing attempt. And after five games, Fromm is currently rated as the sixth-most efficient quarterback in the country.

Fromm brings a combination of big-game experience and great ball control to the table. As a freshman last year, Fromm gave up only seven interceptions on 291 passing attempts. This year, Fromm has been even better at avoiding mistakes, cutting his interception rate by two-tenths of a percent.

The big liability with Fromm, however, is that his is not what one might call a mobile quarterback in any way, shape, or form. Fromm was sacked 20 times in 2017, and he has been taken down seven times so far this year. The sophomore is not the type of quarterback that will often get you yards scrambling downfield.
