Friday night

Middle Tennessee State at Marshall, 7:30 p.m. EST, CBSSN

The weekday games aren’t very good this week (when are they ever though), this is quietly a pretty good Conference USA game. Marshall is 3-1, and while they’re not great at anything, their defense is pretty good, and receiver Tyre Brady is pretty fun to watch. MTSU is 2-2, and quarterback Brent Stockstill is one of the better G5 passers.

One sentence sell: This is actually a pretty important C-USA game, because the winner becomes the de facto leader in the East to lose to North Texas in the conference title game.

Utah State at BYU, 9:00 p.m. EST, ESPN2

Another slightly underrated game between two pretty good teams. BYU just got crushed by Washington, but I think I still like their defense going forward. That defense should be a great macthup for Utah State’s offense, as a strength on strength look, because Utah State can score a ton of points.

One sentence sell: Utah State has been crushing defenses, so now we get to see them against a top 20 group, so that should be fun.
