Playoff Debut

At the end of October, the first edition of the 2018 College Football Playoff rankings come out. With a much quieter month of October compared to the rest of the field, Penn State sits at as good of a position a one-loss team can. With an undefeated month of October, the Penn State Nittany Lions will enter the first edition of the rankings 7-1 (4-1) and will debut inside the top 10. This would be the perfect set up for Penn State to get back into the conversation of making the playoff.

Whether they can get back into the running of playing for the Big Ten Conference or not, this would be a prime position for the Nittany Lions. As mentioned before, the Nittany Lions still have Michigan and Wisconsin on their schedule, and with other teams ahead of them bound to lose, Penn State could sneak up into the playoff by season’s end.

But season’s end is still far away, so for now, the Nittany Lions need to focus on bouncing back and taking care of business in the month of October. And with playmakers like Trace McSorley and K.J. Hamler, and a favorable schedule, getting back on track won’t be that hard!
