1. Sam Ehlinger is the future and the present at quarterback for Texas

Sam Ehlinger came up huge for Texas in the rivalry game on Saturday, engineering one scoring drive after another through the first half and into the second. When Texas worked on bleeding the clock, his productivity fell down somewhat, but it was nevertheless an impressive performance by a quarterback that has struggled to gain the hearts of some of the Longhorns fan base.

Ehlinger stepped up huge throughout the game, finishing with 314 yards and two touchdowns on 24-of-35 passing. He added 72 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 19 carries, and remained calm even as the Sooners chipped away at the lead.

Once Oklahoma tied up the game late in the fourth quarter, Ehlinger coolly led the Longhorns down into position for the game-winning field goal with both his arm and his legs. The quarterback looks ready to assume the mantle of undisputed leader for the Longhorns.
