5. Alabama is still number one

The Alabama Crimson Tide are 6-0 and clearly the best team in college football. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa averaged 25.7 yards per passing attempt with four touchdowns against the Razorbacks. Tagovailoa is averaging 14.8 yards per passing attempt on the season while throwing 18 touchdowns and not a single interception.

The Tide are a machine rolling through the SEC in 2018. Damien Harris ran for 111 yards (7.4 yards per carry) and two touchdowns and Najee Harris averaged nine yards per carry for the Tide.

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught four balls for 135 yards (33.8 per catch) and two scores in the 65-31 win over Arkansas. Chad Morris offense didn’t play that poorly as Ty Storey threw two touchdowns and Rakeem Boyd ran for over 100 yards but it wasn’t enough to come close to the Tide’s output.

The Alabama defense, what Nick Saban is usually known for down in Tuscaloosa, came up with only one sack and eight tackles for loss but the Crimson Tide defense scored another touchdown this week. Arkansas failed to sack either Alabama quarterback on the afternoon as Jalen Hurts averaged 11.8 yards per passing attempt and 8.8 yards per carry against the Hogs.

Alabama is clearly the best in college football and will remain that way until the SEC Championship Game where Georgia will have to play a flawless game to beat the Tide with their current high powered offense.
