Big 12 Football 2018: Quarterback power rankings following Week 6
By Dana Becker
For Sam Ehlinger, the recent win over Oklahoma should be all he needs to show his status as an elite quarterback in the Big 12.
Ehlinger directed the game-winning drive for a field goal, moments after Oklahoma and Kyler Murray tied the game up.
With three rushing touchdowns and two more through the air, the offense literally ran through Ehlinger vs. the Sooners. The sophomore completed 24-of-35 for 314 yards, adding 72 more yards on the ground.
For the season, Ehlinger has 1,499 yards passing and 11 touchdowns, is completing 65 percent of his throws and has been intercepted just twice in 202 attempts.
The Austin native was at his best vs. the biggest rival Texas plays, which should only help give him more confidence moving forward. He was thrust into the starting role as a freshman last year and is on pace to easily surpass his numbers from that campaign.
