While Notre Dame might not quite bring in the recruits like they did in years past, the program remains a top landing spot for the cream of the crop. Miles Boykin, a senior, waited for his turn to shine in the lineup and has excelled over the past two weeks.
Boykin is coming off an eight-reception, 117-yard, two-touchdown performance in the win vs. Virginia Tech, as his scores helped take the game from a 24-16 Irish advantage to 38-16 in a matter of minutes.
After catching just one pass vs. Michigan, Boykin blew up in a win over Ball State with 119 yards on six receptions. He disappeared, though, vs. Vanderbilt and Wake Forest, combining for two catches for 20 yards.
Two weeks ago against Stanford, Boykin made his presence known with 11 receptions for 111 yards and a score. He showed that was no fluke, forming another great connection with Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book this week.
Last year, Boykin had just 12 catches for 253 yards, numbers he has surpassed this season with 28 receptions for 428 yards and three touchdowns.
