1. Khalid Kareem is a monster

Notre Dame’s defense has been good at getting pressure on the quarterback all season long, as they have 15 total sacks on the season which is ranked 33rd in the nation.

Khalid Kareem abused the Virginia tech tackles for most of the night as he finished the game with five tackles and 1.5 sacks. Every dominant defense it has championship hopes include a consistent pass rush on the edge, and Kareem fits the bill for Notre Dame.

He has 3.5 sacks on the season and could finish with seven or eight sacks before bowl season arrives.

The next few opponents the Irish face (Pittsburgh, Navy, and Northwestern) don’t have potent passing attacks so the defense could pin their ears back and get to the quarterback fairly easily.

If he keeps up this level of play for the next couple of weeks the Irish could make a case that they have the best defense in the country.
