Like Baylor, Texas Tech didn’t do anything wrong to drop a spot, other than lose to Ole Miss and West Virginia earlier in the season, they just had to drop because I wanted to move Iowa State into their fifth spot. Texas Tech didn’t do anything this week, because they had a bye week. We’ll learn about them next week when they face off against TCU.

Last week, I mentioned that Iowa State, because of the way their schedule was set up, was really flying under the radar. They had to play some of the toughest games on their schedule at the beginning of the year, and now that those games are behind them, they can really get started. They did that on Saturday when they came back to beat Oklahoma State.

It was a great showing from Brock Purdy, as the freshman quarterback was pretty much solely responsible for this win. Iowa State will probably lose to West Virginia this weekend, and Texas in November, but a 7-5 season looks pretty realistic right now. That’s good news for the Cyclones.
