2. Lack of faith in Dana Holgorsen

I don’t want anyone to take this the wrong way, I think that Dana Holgorsen is a great coach and has absolutely earned the right to coach a team of West Virgina’s caliber.

With that being said, there is something to be said about winning big games, and quite frankly, he just hasn’t done that in his tenure in Morgantown. The last time they beat a top five team was in 2014, when they knocked off Baylor at home.

You’re probably thinking “Iowa State isn’t a top five team” and while I understand that, the point I’m trying to make is that if it is a close ball game, I’m putting my money on Matt Campbell if I have to choose.

Iowa State has shown they know how to close tight games with close wins over Oklahoma and TCU last season and their win over Oklahoma State last week. As for West Virginia, they haven’t faced many competitive teams all year with Texas Tech likely being the toughest.
