. OL. Alabama. Jonah Williams. 6. player. 42

The San Francisco 49ers appear to have their franchise quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo but need to shore up their protection for the coveted-asset. Alabama’s Jonah Williams would be the perfect fit.

Versatility is the name of the game along the trenches in football. While defenders can move around from one play to the next, linemen typically stay at one position all game. Luckily for the 49ers, Williams has played two positions in as many seasons at Alabama.

As a true freshman, Williams started at right tackle for Alabama. In 2017, he moved to left tackle and started every game there. At 6-foot-5, 300 lbs., Williams has the size to compete at the next level, but might find a home inside at guard.

Whether it’s the Crimson Tide’s development staff or something in the water, Alabama churns out offensive linemen seemingly every other season. Williams looks to be next in line.
