2. Best Offensive Player- QB Alan Bowman

We could stick Kyler Murray here of course and could have picked Will Grier as well. Some may disagree, however, Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman has been impressive and deserves the nod.

Bowman has passed for 1680 yards with a near 70 percent completion rate. He has thrown for 11 touchdowns to only three interceptions. Bowman is a true pocket passer so he has no touchdowns on the ground, which puts him below from Murray.

What has truly been impressive about Bowman is he’s only a freshman. He enrolled early just this past spring and won the starting job. In only five games, he has impressed. Unfortunately, he suffered a collapsed lung in the West Virginia game and had to leave early.

After his scary injury, Bowman is back with the team but did not play in the Red Raiders last game versus TCU. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is being mum on who will start in their next game. If Bowman is ready to go, he should pick up where he left off. He should definitely be in contention for some post-season awards as a freshman.
