Big 12 Football Power Rankings 2018: Is Texas back after Week 7?
Kansas didn’t play, which is probably for the best. The Jayhawks stay at 10, and will not move from that spot unless something terrible happens to, oh I don’t know, Texas in the last week of the season that knocks them out of the playoff.
In college football, you can usually tell when a team is just about done for the season. What does that mean in an actual tangible way? Well, when you lose to Kansas State and their very old football coach 31-12, you’re probably just about done for the season. Oklahoma State was outgained, outplayed, outcoached, and just plain crushed by a bad Kansas State team.
Worst of all, this wasn’t even that surprising. Sure, I thought Oklahoma State would win. However, the signs about this team being bad were pretty obvious to this point, and they pretty much just confirmed it on Saturday. Their passing attack is stale with Taylor Cornelius, their defense is still bad, their line is bad at best, and Justice Hill has nowhere to run. Oklahoma State looks like a 6-6 team at best right now, and even more concerning, Mike Gundy looks like he knows it.
