1. Alabama

The extent of Tua Tagovailoa’s knee injury is unknown. It was reported that the injury was present before the game, yet Nick Saban still had Tagovailoa play in this week’s game against Missouri. We can assume Alabama would have had no problem handling the Mizzou Tigers if Jalen Hurts started and played the whole game. So Saban’s decision was questionable.

Regardless, Tua’s injury doesn’t seem to be too serious and the Crimson Tide face Tennessee next week. After Tennessee, Alabama has a bye week. Therefore, it would make sense for Saban to sit Tagovailoa next week and allow him to get a full two weeks of rest.

No matter how bad Tagovailoa’s injury ends up being, Jalen Hurts has taken two Alabama teams to consecutive National Championship games, and won one all on his own. For these reasons, Alabama remains the clear No.1 team in college football.
