1. College GameDay’s first visit will spark a great atmosphere in Pullman

After 200+ weeks of ‘Ol Crimson flying in the background of every GameDay broadcast, ESPN’s flagship Saturday morning show will finally head to Pullman to broadcast live from Washington State. No one will mistake Pullman for one of college football’s toughest environments, but the added excitement of GameDay’s appearance will lead to a riotous crowd at Martin Stadium on Saturday night.

Washington State has had a recent track record under Mike Leach of being difficult to beat on their home field. Since 2015, the Cougars have put together a 19-4 record in home games. They are currently riding 10-game winning streak in games played in Pullman, their last loss coming in 2016 to rival Washington. The Huskies would go on to play in the college football playoff that season.

GameDay’s appearance should provide a little bit of extra juice for the Washington State crowd, providing an even tougher road environment for the Ducks. Oregon has struggled in recent seasons on the road as is, compiling a 2-9 mark in their last 11 true road games. The two road wins weren’t particularly impressive either – the Ducks knocked off Cal two weeks ago (currently 0-3 in the PAC-12), and knocked off Wyoming in Laramie a year ago.
