2. UCF can still win without Milton

For the first time this season, UCF was without arguably its best player in quarterback McKenzie Milton. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the junior was considered to be a game-time decision on Saturday. Even though he was fully suited up, he never played a snap under center.

Despite this obvious void in the offense, the Knights were still able to win handily, thanks to the strong play of Darriel Mack Jr. He went for just 69 yards through the air while completing 12 out of 20 passes but his effectiveness was seen using his legs.

Mack Jr. favored the run and rushed 22 times for 120 yards and a touchdown and in the process, he was the team’s leading rusher in the win.

Since Milton was fully dressed for the games, it is plausible to figure he won’t be out for a lengthy period of time. However, there are currently no direct indications that he will play next week against Temple.

Nonetheless, even with the absence of Milton, UCF was still capable of having a productive offense while manufacturing around the same point total as previous weeks — although it needed a scoreless first quarter to acclimate itself and explode to post a 20 spot in the second quarter.
